Jim and Susan met in Chapel Hill in 1991 while Susan was in Graduate school and Jim was busy building his business. They got engaged in Paris in 1996 and were married by Reverend Bill Gattis at the United Methodist Church on Franklin Street in 1997.
Susan attended Meredith College and received her Masters Degree in Public Health from UNC. A Registered Dietician, she worked as a nutritionist at Kaiser Permanente and served as the Director of outpatient cardiac rehabilitation at UNC from 1992-2000, has been an active volunteer and fundraiser for “Arts in Action”, serves on the Board of Girls on the Run, is the Girl Scout troop “Cookie Mom”, and participates in many other activities at Rashkis Elementary school in Chapel Hill. She is currently training for an Ironman.
Jim and Susan have two children:
Kenan, 13, enjoys reading, playing tennis, riding his bike and attending Camp SeaGull.
Karsen, 9, loves playing with her friends, the color pink and baking cookies with mom.
Tucker, the family pooch, has passed on and we miss him dearly.
