Grenada

Country Information:

Grenada is twice the size of Washington D.C and the capital of the country is Saint George’s. There are approximately 115,000 people living here. The official language of Grenada is English with a majority of Grenadians also speaking French patois. The majority of Grenadians practice Christian Protestantism. Major exports of the country include nutmeg, bananas, cocoa, fruits and vegetables, clothing and mace.

Jim’s Perspectives:

While in Grenada in 2016 I explored this picturesque island … and discovered the beaches on Anse are worth writing home about!

Then, I walked around downtown …

And saw some interesting sights … such as a young man walking his goat …

Then took in “The Christ of the Deep” sculpture on the wharf in St. Georges. It was gifted to Grenada by a cruise line for assistance given to an Italian ship destroyed by fire.

Hearing fervent and spirit-led clapping and singing, I followed the sound and attended a church service, the highlight of my stay in Grenada!
