Surprise – It’s Your New Car!

Loretha Sees Her New Car For The First Time

Chapel Hill resident Loretha Greene was very surprised as she took a first look at her new (to her) 2002 Lincoln Town Car with the big red bow on East Franklin Street Friday afternoon. The car was a gift from UNC Kenan- Flagler Business School adjunct professor Jim Kitchen and his entrepreneur class of UNC business students who traded up small items of value into gradually more valuable items that eventually were worth enough to buy the Lincoln for Greene, a CNA who needs transportation to get her to her in-home clients. Also involved in the gift for the formerly homeless woman was the Community Empowerment Fund in Chapel Hill, which helped Greene get and stay off drugs, find an apartment and a job and who recommended her to Kitchen as the worthy recipient for his class’s entrepreneurial efforts.
